Appointments for GPs
Due to the COVID19 pandemic, we have had to make some changes to the way you can access the service to ensure the building is not overcrowded, and to ensure we can maintain social distancing to protect patients and staff.
Every GP appointment will first require a telephone consultation with the GP.
Non Urgent appointments - these can be booked in advance with one of our receptionist. They will take a brief description of your symtoms and give you a date and approx. time the GP will phone you to discuss. Each appointment is for ten minutes and is one patient per appointment. The receptionist will try and accommodate your GP of choice, however this is not always possible.
Urgent appointment request - we have telephone triage daily between the hours of 8:30amd and 10:00am. If you require urgent medical attention, if you phone between these hours, the receptionist will take a brief description of your symptoms and a contact you that day. This enables the calls to be prioritised by the GP to ensure that the care and safety of the patients is maintained.
It may be possible for the GP to resolve your issue of the phone or if the GP requires you to attend for an examination, they will allocate you an appointment. Due to the volume of calls the GP will only ring once, and patients should remain available for the call.
There are no planned surgeries on a Wednesday afternoon, however, a doctor is available for medical emergencies only at the Dunluce Health Centre.
